TATTOO AFTERCARE
INSTRUCTIONS

Following these instructions will help your tattoo heal cleanly and keep the artwork looking its best.

Proper healing is part of the finished piece.

STEP 01

FIRST 2–3 HOURS

  • Keep the plastic wrap on for about three hours. Then remove it and wash the tattoo thoroughly.

STEP 02

WASHING

  • Wash your tattoo 2–3 times daily with Dial antibacterial soap and lukewarm water.
  • Wash your hands first. Use clean hands only and do not scrub.
  • Keep the tattoo clean and free of dried blood, ink, residue, or excess moisture.

STEP 03

MOISTURIZING

  • Apply a very thin layer of Aquaphor for the first 3 days. Then switch to a fragrance-free lotion for the rest of the 2–4 week healing period.
  • USE THE MINIMUM AMOUNT POSSIBLE.
  • Keep the tattoo lightly moisturized, never wet, shiny, greasy, or heavily coated.
  • When scabbing begins, gently dab on a tiny amount of lotion. Do not rub or overapply.

STEP 04

SCABBING & PEELING

  • Light peeling, itching, and scabbing are normal.
  • Do not pick, scratch, or peel the tattoo. Let all scabs fall off naturally.
  • Be gentle when drying, moisturizing, dressing, and sleeping to prevent ink loss or scarring.

STEP 05

SUN PROTECTION

  • Keep your healing tattoo out of direct sunlight. Do not use sunscreen until it is fully healed.
  • Cover it with clean, loose clothing when outdoors.
  • After one month, use high-SPF sunscreen regularly to prevent fading.

STEP 06

ADDITIONAL CARE

  • Avoid swimming, soaking, saunas, and hot tubs until fully healed.
  • Wear clean, loose clothing and avoid anything that rubs, scratches, or sticks to the tattoo.
  • Limit heavy sweating and friction during early healing.
  • Keep the tattoo covered from direct sunlight.
